Welcome

Hi, Welcome to my Blog. In this space, I'll be writing about new developments in the law, the courts, and my practice. You'll probably find the information here to be heavily weighted towards DUI and DWI law. However, I will also be discussing general criminal topics including search and seizure, drug charges, traffic charges, and the like. More material will be dedicated to DUI and DWI because of the complexities of this area, and because DUI and DWI law is constantly changing. For instance, did you know that if you have a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) the laws in both Kansas and Missouri are very different for you when it comes to DUIs and DWIs? This is true even if you are not driving a commercial vehicle when you receive a DUI or DWI. You may never drive a Commercial Vehicle like a truck and still be subject to these differences in the law. So, if you have a CDL, but no longer drive a commercial vehicle like a big rig, you may want to think twice about automatically renewing your CDL status when it comes in the mail. You may want to downgrade to a regular license. Contact me at www.burmasterlaw.com if you want to know more. Thanks, Paul.
